Staking and custody choices
SOL holders may encounter staking options through wallets, exchanges or staking services. The approach can change who controls the assets, how withdrawal works and what fees or penalties apply. Understand the exact arrangement before committing assets.
- A validator, a liquid-staking token and an exchange staking option are different products.
- Recovery phrases and private keys should never be disclosed to a website or support contact.
- A staking reward does not offset every risk, especially price risk.
